New Main Entry

COMPLETE

Hotel del Coronado has restored its bygone sense of arrival with a new landscaped entry featuring a grand view of the iconic red turret that leads to reconstructed porte cochere and central entry fountain. The lush, grand driveway harkens back to the Victorian era as guests arrived via rail car from across the country to stay for the season. As guests arrive at the new entrance, they are welcomed by the restored front porch and wide veranda featuring two sets of entry stairs.

Parking Improvements

NORTH GARAGE 2019 | SOUTH GARAGE 2022

The Master Plan includes an expansion of the hotel’s parking capacity with two new underground parking garages, totaling 1,179 parking spaces (an increase of 239 spaces).

The north parking garage was completed in November 2019 and is currently serving as the hotel’s temporary main entrance and parking location until the south entry and garage is completed. On the south side, a second parking garage located below the new Southpointe Event Center will open in fall 2022.

Orange Avenue Improvements

COMPLETE

Street improvements along Orange Avenue include a new landscaped sidewalk for an enhanced pedestrian experience and landscaped medians.

COMPLETE

Public improvements include a new signalized intersection and pedestrian crosswalk to the bay, with a landscaped sidewalk and new angled parking. The existing beachfront walkway has been extended around the cul-de-sac and the existing stairs have been replaced with an access ramp.
